An update to our Marine Incident Alert on the 25th of May

The APL England was brought into the Port of Brisbane on 27th May. AMSA surveyors conducted an inspection of the ship in port on that same day, with the findings being inadequate fastening and corroded securing points for containers.

ANL (the operator of the APL England) has advised our surveyors that container unloading operations have commenced. At this stage, the plan is that only undamaged containers will be unloaded today (1st June) in order to provide access to the damaged containers.

Unloading of the damaged containers is likely to commence tomorrow (2nd June). Our loss surveyors will be in attendance to observe the discharge of the containers from the vessel and identify as early as possible any damaged containers insured by NTI.

Some customers may experience delays in receiving goods due to this incident. Our Cargo Insurance policies continue to cover goods until delivered to their final destination so NTI customers can rest assured that their goods continue to be covered.
